Double Trouble

Photos by Equalizer

Over Indulgence seems to be a dominant theme these days. Grazing on almost everything on the table, with bits of everything splattered on every part of your body. Well ok, that is an exaggeration, but it certainly feels that way for me. I decided enough is enough (yeah right!), and focus only on two scrumptious pairings.

Oriental Bean Burger - black eyed bean, potato and carrot panko breaded patty mixed with ginger, honey, soy, curry and chilli, topped with mango chutney mayo and pickled red onions and served on freshly baked ciabatta bread.

Fresh Cream Kanafa - No description needed. Pure, warm, sweet, and simple.

If you had to choose a pair for futour, what would it be?

Judy abott: Why? hehe didn;t like my food?

Ray: Are you serious?!!!! Well actually its quite interesting. Do you know that certain fine dining restaurants in New York serve that for dessert?

Marrakech: You paintings will in turn inspire me to create more ;)

Bo Jaij: Thanks and welcome, nice pairings! I love Tom Yum.

Jenny: I like that when its freezing weather served in newspaper.

Dina: it depends on where your location is :)

Misscosmo: The one I had was freshly made, but I recently discovered that a Kanafani is opening up literally next door, so bad news for me.

Flamy: might as well be bangers and mash!

equalizer... did you ever try the $29 burger at DB Bistro Moderne in NYC?

Stuffed with ribs and foie gras, it is an orgasmic experience unmatched anywhere!

papillona: I wish I can help you with that question hehe

Zaydoun: Yes I have heard about it. It kick started the gourmet burger movement. I wouldn't eat it though for obvious reasons.

ma3leesh but I wanna know what Do u kuwaiti eat in Ramadan?!..I mean in fatoor?!

10/16/2005 04:35:00 PM
Blogger Equalizer said...

Anonymous: perfect choice!

Rimyoleta: Well what we eat is pretty much what we eat on a daily basis in non-ramadan months plus tashreeba, hareesa and jereesh. Hareesa is like a porridge made with shredded meat and topped with icing sugar and cinnamon and dihin 3adanee (baladee), jereesh is almost the same but with bulgur wheat and tomatoes and topped with fried onions.

Gastro... the ribs in the burger are not pork ribs. Unless its the foie gras you don't like

THE ORIGINAL db BURGER
Sirloin Burger Filled
with Braised Short Ribs, Foie Gras
and Black Truffles
Served on a Parmesan Bun
with Pommes Frites

HEAVEN!!
